Monday Style Icon - Diane von Furstenberg
When I hear the name Diane Von Furstenberg, the next thing that pops into my head is her signature piece of clothing - the wrap dress! It revolutionized the fashion industry and defined her DVF girl - effortless, sexy and on-the-go. The wrap dress has been around for many many years, worn by the likes of people like Kate Middleton and Madonna, and seems that it won’t be going out of fashion any time soon. Diane is truly a clothing legend!
She is certainly a very innovative designer. Von Furstenberg has used flash mob for advertising and was one of the first designers to use high-tech Google glasses on the runway. What is more, Diane has her own reality TV show called The House Of DVF where she searches for future DVF brand ambassadors. Her list of achievements doesn’t end just there, she also has written a book by the title ‘The Woman I Wanted To Be’. It received stellar reviews and Diane has been praised for her honest way of writing. It isn’t surprising though, as Diane says herself - truth is her religion!
Not only that but she is also a very wise woman. One thing that really stuck with me was her advice on relationships. Diane believes that the most important relationship you can have in your life is the one with yourself, everything else is a plus but not a must. My feminist hero!
