Monday Style Icon - Christine Centenera
Knock, knock! Who’s there? It’s Monday Style Icon!
Meet Christine Centenera. She is the fashion director of Vogue Australia, and the recently-launched Miss Vogue. But before landing the job at Vogue, she worked at Harper’s Bazaar for 10 years. Centenera is also a stylist, and among her clients are cultural icons, such as Cate Blanchett, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Elle Fanning, Gisele, Kim Kardashian, Miranda Kerr, Lara Stone, Kate Upton and Gemma Ward. However Christine is more and more frequently admired for her own flawless style. According to Into The Fashion, she has been characterized as “Muse of the Century”.
Yet the street style icon shies away from social media, and doesn’t feel comfortable in front of the camera. She told Popsugar that she doesn't’ think that she will ‘ever tire of getting embarrassed when you have these [street style photographers] people asking to take your photo’.
PopSugar writes that Centenera's ‘personal style is a cool mix of wardrobe staples, edgier pieces, and slick materials, from the likes of Givenchy, Balmain, and Balenciaga’. She prefers to keep things monochromatic and markedly high-fashion. Shoes are usually the centrepiece of her outfits. Christine is a fan of architectural pieces, and prefers an undone look for her hair. If one had to describe Centenera’s style in two words, it would certainly be bold and brave!
