Saturday Movie - Breathless
Let me start by telling you that I don't watch many foreign movies. Technically, English movies are foreign to me, but what I'm trying to say is I don't watch movies that require me to read subtitles. That being said, there are a few French exceptions. Breathless (A bout de souffle) would be one of them. IMDB categorizes it as a crime, drama movie, and it actually is. However, it is also a picture that tells a story of a complex relationship between two people, as well as portrays a woman, who despite her feelings, rises above a man's wishes and does the right thing. Maybe it's the feminist in me that rejoices in a movie that portrays an independent woman who thinks for herself.
But let's not forget the reason this movie is on this blog, and that, of course, is the incredible fashion! From classic french stripes, to a simple New York Herald Tribute t-shirt worn by Jean Seberg, to her pixie cut - this movie is the epitome of effortless chìc!
